About Us

Indoor Air Quality Services is a family-owned, fully licensed, and insured mold inspection company. We service Hillsborough, Pinellas, Pasco, Manatee, Polk, Hernando, and Sarasota counties. We only do testing and inspections. 

We perform thorough assessments and give recommendations, but for ethical reasons, we do NOT perform mold remediation. This ensures you get an honest opinion on the state of the property’s indoor air quality.

GARY BREND

Gary Brend graduated with his Bachelors degree from the University of Tampa, and Masters degree from KWU. Throughout Gary’s professional career he has worked extensively in the non-destructive testing field. During his professional career, he was Level 3 ASNT certified in three non-destructive testing disciplines. He ran his own calibration service for over 20 years and expanded his knowledge to include Mold Assessment and Indoor Air Quality, and is a Florida Licensed Mold Assessor. Gary is also a Residential Certified Thermographer, a Florida Licensed Radon Technician, and a member of Normi (National Organization of Remediators and Mold Inspectors), InterNACHI, and IAQA (Indoor Air Quality Association).

GARYDI TEIXEIRA

Garydi received her Bachelor’s degree from the University of Miami and Master’s degree from the University of South Florida. She became involved in air quality testing alongside her father, Gary Brend. As a mother of two children who suffer from allergies and asthma, she understands the concerns our clients have with the need to ensure total air quality for the health and comfort of themselves and their families. She holds a Florida Mold-Related Services Assessor license. She is a Certified Residential Thermographer and a Council Certified Indoor Environmentalist. Garydi is also fluent in Spanish and Portuguese.

CHARLOTTE DIMARAES BREND

Charlotte earned her Masters degree in business management in 2008 in the United States. Over 5 years ago, she moved from Brazil and joined our IAQS family. Charlotte has always had an interest in helping people live in safe environments. Since 2003, she has volunteered for projects helping in mold remediation and roofing. Charlotte is a Florida state licensed Mold Assessor, a Council Certified Indoor Environmentalist, and a Certified Residential Thermographer. She also is fluent in Portuguese.

Mary Burns

After having her own struggles with mold in her home, Mary Burns left her world of Business Administration, in which she has earned a doctorate degree to help the family business and the public by increasing awareness of the effects of poor air quality. For several years, Mary has given presentations to home inspectors as well as other professionals in various venues to help our local community see the need for mold assessment and good air quality.   Mary undertook a 4-year apprenticeship with her father and sisters eventually earning her status as a Council Certified Indoor Environmentalist, a Florida State Licensed Mold Assessor, and most recently a Certified Residential Thermographer.  Mary has also spent the last 25 years volunteering in the community, mentoring individuals to lead healthier and happier lives. She has previously volunteered on disaster relief projects and plans to continue to do so.
